Jag har en förhoppning om att återkomma till det här ämnet i ett längre inlägg så småningom. Tills dess:

"För egen del tror jag inte det specifikt musikaliska kan uttryckas på något annat sätt än genom musik och inte heller att aldrig så omfångsrika verbaliseringar har någon egentlig betydelse i den stund vi lyssnande lånar vår uppmärksamhet till tonerna. Men låt oss för den skull inte hamna i nyspråkets fälla och inte heller, i missriktad respekt för det outsägliga i musiken, tystna i stum förundran. Vi kan aldrig få för många kreativa symboler eller för många intressanta och oväntade kopplingar mellan olika delar av verkligheten. Låt oss bara leva utan den naiva förhoppningen att ordet alltid för oss närmare verkligheten, att transformationen till det verbala är ett nödvändigt villkor för förståelse även av de språk som nyttjar andra medel."
